Hyderabad: Former Minister and Suryapet MLA G Jagadish Reddy said the High Court verdict on the Justice PC Ghose Commission report on the Kaleshwaram project has vindicated the BRS stand and exposed false propaganda against the project by the Congress.

Addressing a press meet at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, Jagadish Reddy said the ruling proved that allegations against former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and former Minister T Harish Rao were baseless. He reiterated that Kaleshwaram was a large irrigation system and not limited to the Medigadda barrage.

The former Minister alleged that the project was deliberately targeted through inquiries and false political narratives to defame Chandrashekhar Rao. He said the government halted operations citing structural issues, despite the project remaining functional. He added that the barrage withstood a minor earthquake and massive floods even after the damage to the pillars earlier.

He also raised concerns over a looming drinking water crisis and urged the government to resume operations of the Kaleshwaram pump houses immediately. “If the government is willing to hand it over to us, we are willing to complete the repair works and commence full-fledged operations,” he said.

Jagadish Reddy ridiculed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s attempts to politically counter BRS chief Chandrashekhar Rao during a recent public meeting rather than outperforming him in terms of governance. He alleged neglect of RTC employees’ issues and called for immediate resolution of their demands. He also urged the government to address concerns of artisans in the power sector and prioritise public welfare over political rhetoric.
