Hyderabad: The depleted Apex Council of the Hyderabad Cricket Association, which met for the second time in the space of one week after criminal proceedings were initiated by the Telangana CID against the top brass—including the President, the Secretary, the Treasurer and a couple of affiliated club officials—took a decision on Tuesday to introduce a grievance redressal system for players through a three-tier mechanism.
Significantly, the Apex Council, however, deferred debating the convening of a special General Body Meeting to discuss the latest developments.
“We will take a call about that in the next meeting to be held in a couple of days,” a senior official informed Telangana Today on Tuesday.
The mechanism will include a physical box, toll-free line and an online portal to empower players with safe, accessible feedback channels.
The Apex Council—attended by Sardar Daljeet Singh (in-charge President), T. Basava Raju (Joint Secretary), Sunil Kumar Agarwal (Councillor) and D. Rajashekar (C & AG Nominee)—also decided to begin the recruitment process for a full-time Director and expert coaching staff, aimed at rebuilding HCA’s pipeline of cricketing talent.
The HCA will soon launch a monthly newsletter to foster regular communication with stakeholders and the cricketing fraternity, promoting transparency in all activities.
It was also decided that the BCCI would be formally notified regarding the temporary leadership and updated official correspondence procedures.
Another decision was to introduce biometric attendance across all venues to bring digital accuracy, reduce proxy attendance and enhance workplace discipline.
The Council also extended the deadline for applications for the post of Chief Executive Officer up to July 25, in order to attract a broader and more qualified talent pool.
There will be greater accountability adhering to legal principles and in line with the HCA Constitution.
From grievance redressal to audit trails, the Apex Council emphasised institutional transparency across functions, including welfare, development, and fair selection pathways.
Despite adversity, HCA remains committed to conducting league operations, academy functioning and talent development with stability and continuity.
