Karimnagar: The Headmaster and an office subordinate of Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), Kurikyala in Gangadhara mandal, were suspended following allegations of the subordinate’s misbehaviour with girl students.
Grade-II Gazetted Headmaster T Kamala was suspended for concealing facts related to the misconduct of office subordinate Yakub Pasha and for dereliction of duty. District Collector Pamela Satpathy issued orders placing her under suspension.
After receiving information about the incident, the Collector constituted a three-member committee to probe the allegations. The inquiry established that the Headmaster had warned the school staff against revealing the matter to outsiders and failed to ensure the safety of students or report the issue to higher authorities.
Based on the committee’s findings, the Collector ordered Kamala’s suspension. Meanwhile, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer M Srinivas issued suspension orders against Yakub Pasha, who had already been arrested by the police.
Earlier in the day, parents, political leaders and local residents gathered at the school demanding that Yakub Pasha be dismissed from service. BRS leader and former legislator Sunke Ravishankar also demanded his removal from government service.
