Mahabubabad: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Daykar Rao has said the compilation of health profile of the people of Sircilla and Mulugu district was on, and that the programme would be expanded soon to cover people in other areas of the State.
Speaking after launching the Pulse Polio drive for children aged below five years at Panthini village of Wardhannapet in Warangal district, Rayaparthy and Thorrur in Mahabubabad district on Sunday, Rao said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who was striving to realise the dream of ‘Bangaru Telangana’, was also trying to see that everyone in the State is healthy.
“The State government is giving high priority to the health of the people. It is trying to provide quality treatment to the poor at the government hospitals by improving the medical infrastructure,” he said and added that two government medical colleges had been sanctioned to the erstwhile Warangal district (Mahabubabad and Jangaon).
“Telangana is the first state in the country to reduce maternal and infant mortality rate through schemes like Arogya Lakshmi,” Rao said and suggested the people to ensure administering the polio drops for the children every year.
