Healthcare workers at emergency, casualty wings NIMS protest against Punjagutta police
Trouble started when a woman patient after undergoing an MRI at NIMS emergency department complained to her relatives that she lost a necklace.

Hyderabad: The healthcare workers at emergency/casualty wing of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) on Friday evening protested alleging high-handed behavior towards them by Punjagutta police. The normal services at the emergency wing were impacted for a while when healthcare workers comprising clinical support staff, raised slogans against the police.
Trouble started when a woman patient after undergoing an MRI at NIMS emergency department complained to her relatives that she lost a necklace. The family members of the woman after searching around for the necklace registered a complaint against the NIMS authorities at Punjagutta police.
According to reports, the police summoned one of the NIMS healthcare workers for enquiry. The protesting workers at NIMS maintained the police hit the worker when he went to police station. Later, the health care workers also participated in a dharna program in front of the casualty department.
