Heavy thunderstorms lash Hyderabad, Kondapur records 112.3 mm rainfall
Heavy thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds affected several parts of Greater Hyderabad overnight. Kondapur recorded the highest rainfall at 112.3 mm, while the IMD has forecast continued rain, thunderstorms and lightning across Telangana until June 18.

Hyderabad: Multiple areas under Greater Hyderabad witnessed heavy thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds between Saturday evening and early hours of Sunday.
According to Telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS) data, the highest rainfall of 112.3 mm was recorded at Kondapur in Sangareddy district. In Hyderabad, the highest rainfall of 21.1 mm was recorded at Rajendranagar in Rangareddy district.
According to the TSDPS data, the GHMC average rainfall, from Saturday till 8.30 am on Sunday, was 4.9 mm.
Some parts under Greater Hyderabad that witnessed substantial rains included Barkas, BHEL, Lingampally, Gachibowli, Chandanagar, Patancheru, RC Puram, Golconda, HCU Serlingampally, Attapur and Khajaguda.
Meanwhile, the highest maximum temperature of 37.6 degree Celsius was recorded at Patigadda in Hyderabad, the TSDPS weather data said. Based on the weather forecast from IMD, Hyderabad, a similar kind of weather is expected to prevail till June 18.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana. No large change in maximum temperatures during the next 2 days.
Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty Winds (30-40 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in Telangana,” the IMD forecast said.
