Himalayan Raid launch to be advanced after KTM brings out upgraded Adventure range?
The Himalayan Raid, internally called 'Project K1X' is being developed by RE's R&D teams in India and UK, along with a new racing team based in Europe.
Hyderabad: The competition in adventure touring motorcycle segment in India is getting fiercer by the day with Hero launching the Xpulse 210, and KTM launching the upgraded Adventure range on Wednesday.
Royal Enfield, while having brought out the Himalayan 450, does not have an ADV in its lineup which a lot of auto enthusiasts think, could be positioned as a direct rival to KTM’s Adventure 390.
Understanding the pulse of the markets, and in an attempt to take a solid chunk of the pie from KTM, both in the Indian marker and internationally, Royal Enfield plans to bring out the Himalayan Raid earlier than expected.
While there is no confirmation about the launch date, a report on Bikewale.com suggests that the Raid variant of Himalayan might get an early 2026 launch.
According to reports, the Raid, internally called ‘Project K1X’ is being developed by RE’s R&D teams in India and UK, along with a new racing team based in Europe.
The Himayalan Raid is expected to could come out with a price tag of Rs 3.5 lakh. The specs and other mechanical details of the bike are currently not known.
