Mancherial: Hind Mazdoor Sangh (HMS) State president Riaz Ahmed opined that five underground mines could be opened, creating employment opportunities by using the Rs 2,289 crore set aside by SCCL for expansion.

Riaz reasoned that the SCCL would not be able to make profits by venturing into thermal power by investing the funds. Instead of investing in power plants, the coal major should open underground mines and provide jobs to locals.
