Hindupur youth survives Kurnool bus blaze after smashing window

A 25-year-old man from Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh, survived the Kurnool bus fire that killed 19 passengers. Moolinti Venugopal Reddy, who boarded the sleeper coach at Paradise Junction in Hyderabad, acted quickly smashing the rear window and jumped out of the burning bus.

Hyderabad: In the horrific Kurnool bus accident, a 25-year-old man Moolinti Venugopal Reddy, a resident of Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh had miraculously survived.

He had boarded the ill-fated sleeper coach bus at Paradise junction and was asleep in seat U21 when a loud explosion woke him. Realising the danger, he smashed the rear window and jumped out to safety.

“I called for an ambulance, but it arrived late. I managed to reach the hospital in another private vehicle and received first aid. By God’s grace, I survived,” he recounted the horrific experience.
