Hyderabad passenger escapes deadly bus fire near Kurnool

Hyderabad: A passenger from the city, Rama Reddy, who boarded the ill-fated Vemuri Kaveri Travels bus from JNTU, Hyderabad, to Bengaluru, returned home safely after narrowly escaping the deadly fire accident near Kurnool.
He had booked seat number U-19 and was travelling in the bus when it caught fire, resulting in the death of about 20 passengers.
Recalling the horrifying moments, Ramireddy said, “Around 2 am, passengers started screaming. I woke up to see flames spreading fast. People were breaking the rear windows to escape. I too jumped out through a broken window and managed to save my life.”
Ramireddy is among the few survivors of the tragic incident that claimed several lives in the luxury bus fire.
