HMA president Sanjay Kapoor passes away due to Covid-19

He had been associated with international companies such as Larsen & Toubro India, ITW, Borneo Technical Thailand, Adatco (Castolin Eutectic) Egypt/Switzerland, 3M Egypt, Al Shirawi Group Dubai, and Praxair Tafa, USA and FTAPCCI.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Management Association (HMA) president Sanjay Kapoor passed away due to Covid-19. Kapoor, 56, was fighting with Covid and was on a ventilator for the last 11 days.

Sanjay Kapoor had vast experience of over 33 years, in diverse fields of sales, marketing, and techno-commercial operations of companies in industrial products, software services, medical equipment, exhibition, conference, event sector, transportation business, and managing chamber of commerce & NGOs.

He had been associated with international companies such as Larsen & Toubro India, ITW, Borneo Technical Thailand, Adatco (Castolin Eutectic) Egypt/Switzerland, 3M Egypt, Al Shirawi Group Dubai, and Praxair Tafa, USA and FTAPCCI.

As a globe trotter and an able leader, he always earned the goodwill of the people as well as the companies wherever he had worked. In his last corporate role as the GM & Head Corporate Communications & Non-Fare Business of L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad), he set new benchmarks for the industry, both in corporate communication and non-fare business of advertising and retail.

Thereafter, he briefly helped FTAPCCI as secretary-general. He also served as a freelancing consultant for infrastructure, non-fare revenue for the transportation sector & channel management. He was a lifetime member of the Hyderabad Management Association and was the elected member of the CII Council of Telangana 2014-18. He recently authored a book titled “The Corpreneur”.

He had been conferred with Udyog Ratna by Delhi Telugu Academy in 2018, PRCI Chanakya National Award for the Best Public Relations in the category of Communication Professional of the Year (Public Relations)– 2017, Chanakya Innovative Business Leadership Award 2015, Most Promising Entrepreneurship Award of India – 2010 – for outstanding and exemplary achievements in entrepreneurship by Enterprise Asia, and won the Excellence in Marketing Award from FAPCCI (Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce & Industries) for the year 2010-11.

He is survived by both parents, wife, two daughters, and a sister.
