HMWSSB MD reviews Mallanna Sagar water project works
HMWSSB managing director K Ashok Reddy reviewed works at Mallanna Sagar for transferring additional Godavari water to Hyderabad. The Rs 7,360 crore project aims to rejuvenate the Musi River and fill twin reservoirs, with officials asked to meet timelines

Hyderabad: As part of the transfer of an additional 20 TMC of water to Hyderabad for the rejuvenation of the Musi River and to fill twin reservoirs with Godavari water at a cost of Rs 7,360 crore, HMWSSB managing director K Ashok Reddy visited Mallanna Sagar along with senior officials and reviewed the ongoing construction works of the raw water pump house and pipeline network.
The officials also inspected pipeline works spanning approximately 50 km from the pumping house to Ghanpur and near Paturu village in Gajwel mandal.
On the occasion, he instructed officials to assign a unique number to each pipe and geo-tag them. For this purpose, he directed that steps be taken to develop a special mobile app with the help of IT department officials.
Subsequently, the progress of the 1,170 MLD water treatment plant being constructed at Ghanpur was reviewed. Officials were instructed to complete the works within the stipulated timelines.
