Homemade face packs to soothe and refresh skin during summer

Homemade skincare packs made with curd, turmeric, tomato, honey, aloe vera, cucumber, besan and milk are becoming popular during summer. These simple remedies help soothe sun-exposed skin, maintain hydration and refresh dull skin using natural ingredients commonly available at home.

Hyderabad: Spending long hours in the sun during summer can often leave the skin looking dull, uneven and tanned. While sunscreen remains essential, many people also turn to simple homemade skincare packs for extra care after sun exposure. Using ingredients commonly found in the kitchen, these face packs can help soothe, refresh and brighten tired summer skin.

Curd and Turmeric Pack


Mix two tablespoons of curd with a small pinch of turmeric until it forms a smooth paste. Apply it evenly across the face and neck and leave it on for around 15 minutes before washing it off with cool water. Curd is known for its cooling and hydrating properties, making it useful for skin that feels dry or irritated after sun exposure. Turmeric, commonly used in traditional skincare routines, may help improve the appearance of dull skin and give a brighter look over time.

Tomato and Honey Pack

Blend half a tomato into pulp and mix it with one tablespoon of honey. Apply the mixture gently onto the skin and leave it on for 10–15 minutes. Tomatoes are often used in summer skincare because they feel cool and refreshing on the skin, while honey helps lock in moisture and prevents dryness. This pack works especially well after spending time outdoors in harsh heat.

Aloe Vera and Cucumber Pack

Blend fresh cucumber with aloe vera gel to create a light mixture. Leave the pack on for about 20 minutes before rinsing. The combination feels soothing on sun-exposed skin and may help reduce redness while keeping the skin hydrated during hot weather.

Besan and Milk Pack

Mix two tablespoons of besan with enough milk to form a thick paste. Apply it evenly and allow it to dry slightly for around 15 minutes before gently scrubbing it off. Besan is commonly used as a natural exfoliating ingredient that helps remove excess oil and dirt, while milk can leave the skin feeling softer and refreshed.
