Husband Sarpanch, his wife elected as his deputy in Narayankhed village

In a unique development in Sangareddy district, ward members of Jagannadhpur village elected the sarpanch’s wife as vice-sarpanch after failing to reach a consensus. Biradar Vijay Kumar was elected sarpanch in the third phase of gram panchayat elections.

Sangareddy: In a unique election to a gram panchayat, the ward members in Jagannadhpur village in Narayankhed mandal have elected the sarpanch’s wife as vice-sarpanch. While Biradar Vijay Kumar was elected as sarpanch in the third phase of elections held on Wednesday, the seven ward members failed to arrive at a consensus on electing the vice-sarpanch. They finally elected the sarpanch’s wife Shobha, who was elected as a ward member from the 4th ward.
