Hyderabad: 358th ‘Prakash Purab’ of Guru Gobind Singhji on Sunday

The event will feature recitations of holy hymns (Gurbani Keertans) by reputed religious preachers known as Ragi Jathas, who are being specially invited from various parts of the country to render shabad keertans

Hyderabad: In connection with the ongoing world wide 358th Prakash Purab (Holy Birthday Celebrations) of Guru Gobind Singhji , the tenth and last Sikh Guru and founder of Khalsa Panth, a mass congregation ”Vishaal Deewan” will be organised by Prabhandak Committee Gurdwara Saheb, Classic Garden, Balamrai, Secunderabad from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday, January 12.

GSS Prabhandak Committee president, S Baldev Singh Bagga, General Secretary S Jagmohan Singh and vice-president, S Harpreet Singh Gulati said that hundreds of Sikh devotees and devotees from other community faiths are expected to participate in the congregation on Sunday.


The event will feature recitations of holy hymns (Gurbani Keertans) by reputed religious preachers known as Ragi Jathas, who are being specially invited from various parts of the country to render shabad keertans.

Reputed Ragi Jathas, Bhai Sarabjeet Singh (Patna Saheb), Bhai Jaskaran Singh (Patiala), Gyani Jagdev Singh and Bhai Charanjeet Singh and other reputed Ragi Jathas will recite shabad keertans (holy hymns and Kathas and throw light on the teachings of Sikh Gurus, a press release said.

After the culmination of the congregation Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be served to the devotees. A night Kirtan Darbar will be held at Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad on Saturday from 7 pm to 10 pm in which Ragi jathas will recite shabad kirtans and kathas followed by Guru ka Langar.
