Hyderabad: 47th All India Railway Basketball Championship for Women Inaugurated
The 12 teams of Indian Railways represent the South Central Railway, Central Railway, Western Railway, Northern Railway, Eastern Railway, East Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, North Frontier Railway, Southern Railway, South Western Railway, South East Central Railway and North Western Railway.

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway Principal Chief Commercial Manager K. Padmaja inaugurated the 47th All India Railway Basketball Championship for Women at the Secunderabad Railway Sports Complex Grounds on Friday. The tournament will be held from Friday to Tuesday and twelve teams divided in to four pools would be participating in this championship which is conducted in League-cum-Knockout basis.
The 12 teams of Indian Railways represent the South Central Railway, Central Railway, Western Railway, Northern Railway, Eastern Railway, East Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, North Frontier Railway, Southern Railway, South Western Railway, South East Central Railway and North Western Railway.
In the inaugural matches played the Western Railway team beats North Western Railway, Eastern Railway beats Southern Railway, Central Railway beats South Western Railway and South Central Railway beats North Eastern Railway.
Speaking on the occasion, Padmaja advised the participants to utilize the opportunity for exhibiting true sports spirit and talent. Sincerity and hard work would pave way to reach new heights in the game and achieve good results. South Central Railway Sports Association (SCRSA) C. Madhusadana Rao and other senior officials and sports personnel were present.
During the championship, many international and national level basketball players will be seen in action representing various Zones of Indian Railways. An exhibition match was played by the Telangana Wheelchair Basketball team members showcasing the sporting skill.
