Hyderabad: 50-year-old woman dies by suicide at ladies’ hostel in Kukatpally
A 50-year-old woman died by suicide at a ladies’ hostel in Kukatpally after reportedly suffering prolonged emotional distress over family problems. KPHB police identified her as Tirupati Sudha and said her family expressed no suspicion over her death.
Hyderabad: A 50-year-old woman died by suicide at a ladies’ hostel in Sardar Patel Nagar in Kukatpally after reportedly suffering prolonged mental distress over serious family problems.
The deceased, Tirupati Sudha, originally from Janwada in Rangareddy district, was working as a housekeeping employee at a private hostel and was staying there.
According to KPHB police, hostel staff member Sanjana went to Sudha’s room on Wednesday morning to collect the geyser key. When she found the door closed, she checked inside and found Sudha hanging from the ceiling fan with a saree.
Police said Sudha had two sons. Her elder son is reportedly serving a sentence at Cherlapally Central Jail in connection with the murder of his father. Her younger son was allegedly addicted to drugs and frequently troubled her for money.
Her sister told police that Sudha had been under severe emotional distress because of the family circumstances for some time. The family reportedly expressed no suspicion over her death.
The KPHB Police registered a case and are investigating.
