Hyderabad: 51-year-old GHMC sweeper sexually assaulted by watchman at Erragadda foot over bridge
A 51-year-old GHMC sweeper was sexually assaulted by a drunk watchman early Saturday near Erragadda foot over bridge in Hyderabad. The woman reported the incident to police, who quickly arrested the accused. Investigation is currently in progress
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a GHMC sweeper was sexually assaulted by a watchman at the foot over bridge at Erragadda early on Saturday.
According to the police, the victim, aged 51 years, was on her way to her duty when the suspect Namburi Raju, who is a watchman at a nearby building, waylaid the woman and sexually assaulted her on the foot over bridge. The incident happened around 4 am when there was not much public movement. Raju was reportedly in an inebriated state.
The woman later approached the police, who immediately took Raju into custody. A case is registered at the Borabanda police station and an investigation is on.
