Hyderabad: 60 CCTV cameras installed at Ghatkesar
Rachakonda police officials said the project was completed at a cost of Rs 12 lakh

Hyderabad: As part of expanding the Community CCTV camera network across Rachakonda Commissionerate, Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy inaugurated 60 surveillance cameras at Chowdariguda village in Ghatkesar mandal here on Friday.
Officials said the project was completed at a cost of Rs 12 lakh. These cameras would further be connected to the Command and Control Room at Ghatkesar police station.
The cameras have been installed at strategic locations covering entry and exit points, main routes and crime-prone areas of the region. They will be in addition to the existing community surveillance cameras and ‘Nenu Saitham’ cameras installed under the Ghatkesar police limits.
In the recent past, several snatching cases, house burglary and robbery cases were detected with the help of CCTV footage.
The Minister applauded the district administration, Ghatkesar municipal authorities, donors and others for taking the initiative to install CCTV cameras and urged citizens to support installation of more cameras for a safer Rachakonda.
