Women’s Night Run For Safety and Empowerment of Women held Organized by The Hyderabad Runners Society in partnership with Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC)

Hyderabad: The second edition of Starlight Strides and SHE SAFE 2021-Women’s Night Run was held at University of Hyderabad (UoH) here on Saturday.

The event was organised by the Hyderabad Runners Society (HRS) in partnership with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) this year, as a part of their joint vision for the promotion of women’s safety and empowerment.


UoH Vice Chancellor Prof BJ Rao and Deputy Commissioner of Police C Anasuya, Head of Women and Child Safety Wing, Cyberabad presided as the chief guests.

The event began with Ekam band, a sister-duo Veda and Sloka with a popular medley by Sriram, followed by an enthralling Zumba fitness session. Later on, the flag off of 5 km, 10 km timed and 5 km untimed run got started with great energy by the runners.

More than 750 women runners from all walks of life including doctors, nurses, runners, home makers, SHE Teams, students, Sanghamitras, and Margadarshaks participated in the event, informed Pratyusha of SCSC.
