Hyderabad: A private driver of Mood Kishan, Deputy Transport Commissioner of Mahabubnagar district, who is arrested by the ACB in a DA case, is suspected to be ‘benami’ for the officer.
The driver works at a salary of Rs. 20,000 a month with the official for the last some years. The ACB officials were surprised to find that two cars – a Honda City car and Vitara Breeza car – are registered in the name of the driver. However, following the raids on the house of the Kishan, the driver managed to give slip to the ACB and escaped. A team of ACB officials who went to Alwal to the house of the driver were surprised when they found the driver owned a palatial house in a plush residential area. “It is surprising a driver earning Rs. 20,000 a month leading a lavish life. The driver’s house is worth over Rs. 2 crore. Efforts are on to nab him,” said an ACB official associated with the investigation of the case.
The ACB sources said that the deputy transport commissioner fearing ACB surveillance had kept his properties including cash, gold, diamonds with his friends. The ACB officials are likely to check the bank lockers belonging to the official Kishan, and his relatives.
