Hyderabad: An upcoming actress, Mahima from Hyderabad was duped to the tune of Rs 50,000 by cyber fraudsters who claimed that they can provide membership in a film artistes association.

In the incident, which came late to light, the 25-year-old actress from Kundanbagh received a call from a person claiming to be film producer and later another woman who called the victim claiming to be HR Executive of Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA).

Police officials said the fraudster told the victim that there was a current offer of availing lifetime membership in the association by just paying a one-time payment of Rs 50,000. She transferred the money, but there was no response later.
