Hyderabad: A local court sentenced an Arabic teacher to three years of rigourous imprisonment over sexual assault against minor girl which was reported at Vanasthalipuram in 2019.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him.


The convicted person Mohd Shahbaaz (40), a resident of Mansoorabad in LB Nagar, in the guise of teaching Arabic language to the seven-year-old girl, had made sexual advances and misbehaved with her. He further threatened her not to disclose it to anyone or would harm her family members.

Based on the complaint from her family members, the Vanasthalipuram police booked a case and arrested Shahbaaz.

The court also ordered a compensation of Rs 1 lakh to be given to the victim.
