Hyderabad: A female junior artiste approached the Jubilee Hills police alleging she was raped and cheated by an assistant director who promised her roles in movies.
The 26-year-old woman lodged a complaint against one Raju, who works as an assistant director in the Telugu film industry.
According to the police, Raju lured the victim with the promise of securing opportunities in films. Trusting him, she agreed to meet him for an audition for a role. However, Raju took advantage of the situation, kept her in a room and raped her.
Based on the woman’s complaint, the Jubilee Hills police booked a case of rape and cheating and are investigating. Efforts are on to nab the suspect.
