In one case, the theft was recorded on the surveillance cameras that were installed in the vicinity of a shop.
In the video, two offenders were seen visiting a shop and one of them manages to divert the attention of a customer by saying that a currency note belonging to him had fallen.
When the unsuspecting victim bends down to pick up the currency note, the thief manages to steal the mobile phone from his pocket and quietly walks away.
The other offender follows him and the duo manage to flee the scene on a motorcycle along with another offender who was waiting nearby on a motorcycle.
The police registered cases and are investigating.
