Hyderabad: With one month remaining for its golden jubilee celebrations, the marble cleaning works at the Birla Mandir are fast progressing towards completion.
In the month of September, the Birla Mandir management commenced chemical treatment and polishing works on all major gopurams of the temple, and other small temples located in the temple complex. Most of these works have been completed.
The works related to polishing on the marble steps leading to the hilltop of the Birla Mandir are continuing at a brisk pace, Shankerlal Sharma, in-charge of the temple administration, told Telangana Today.
“Apart from completion of polishing works of the main temple structures, other beautification works are also being carried out and will be completed by the first week of February for the ensuing Golden Jubilee celebrations,” he said.
The temple management plans to celebrate the Golden Jubilee tentatively for three days, from February 24 to 26, by inviting members of the Hindusthan Charity Trust, Kolkata, which heads the Birla temples’ management across India, Sharma said.
Traditional temple rituals will be organised for three days, and the schedule will be announced shortly, he added.
