Hyderabad: After the Election Commission of India (ECI) extended the date for SIR exercise, the BLOs have been busy tracking electors to collect filled-in enumeration forms.
The activity focused on all the assembly constituencies, with BLOs approaching electors to ensure the forms were collected after being filled in.
A BLO of the Jubilee Hills assembly constituency said that in several instances, they were unable to collect the filled-in enumeration forms, despite visiting the houses of electors more than three times.
“We are now tracking their contact numbers. On the other hand, we are contacting the resident welfare association (RWA) concerned and urging them to submit the enumeration forms,” another BLO said.
A few BLOs said they were contacting neighbours of the electors to submit the enumeration forms. Electors were also requested to contact the BLOs in person if they had any doubts while filling out the enumeration forms.
BLOs admitted that the enumeration forms activity picked up after ECI announced a revised SIR schedule. “Before announcing it, we have completed the distribution of enumeration forms and are now concentrating on the collection of filled-in forms from the electors,” a BLO said.
