Hyderabad: Tension gripped for some time at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) campus in Kukatpally after a bomb threat email was received on Tuesday, prompting an immediate security response.
Acting swiftly, the KPHB police, along with bomb disposal squads and Dog Squad, reached the spot and took up intensive searches at the administrative block and other places across the university premises. Authorities said the university management alerted police soon after receiving the threatening email.
Students and staff were advised to remain cautious as security teams carried out thorough inspections. No suspicious objects had been found at the time of reporting, officials said.
The KPHB Police are currently investigating whether the email was just a hoax or part of a larger conspiracy. Efforts are on to identify and nab the sender of the hoax mail.
