Hyderabad: A bomb threat triggered a security scare, after authorities received an email claiming that an incoming international flight from Riyadh was carrying an explosive device at the RGIA late on Sunday.
Following the alert, airport authorities and security agencies immediately activated emergency protocols.
After the aircraft landed safely, passengers were deboarded and the flight was thoroughly searched by the bomb disposal squad and other security personnel.
No explosives or suspicious objects were found during the inspection, and the threat was declared a hoax.
The RGIA Police have registered a case and efforts are on to trace the sender of the threatening email.
Meanwhile, airport operations continued normally after the security clearance.
