Hyderabad: Three persons were killed in a road accident at Keesara here on Wednesday.
According to the police, Sumanth Reddy (20), G Pavan Kumar (21), and Shanker Reddy (38) were travelling in a car from Khammam to Alwal. On reaching the Outer Ring Road stretch at Keesara, Sumanth Reddy, who was behind the wheel, realised that the brakes were down.
“In an attempt to slow down the car, he moved the car to the left side of the road but crashed at high speed into a lorry parked on the roadside. Both Sumanth and Shanker, who were in the front seat died on the spot while Pavan was retrieved from the mangled vehicle by the patrol police and shifted to hospital, where he died later,” the Keesara police said.
Following the accident, there was a major traffic jam on the Outer Ring Road. The police removed the wreckage using a crane. A case was registered and the investigation is on.
