Hyderabad: As fate would have it, a burglar broke into a locked house only to have the owners of the place arriving within moments. And he was arrested even before he could get a feel of the dwelling that he targeted.
The incident occurred when the house owner V Shankar, a private employee, had locked the house at Sri Sairam Nagar in Boduppal and went to visit the Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
As per available information, the suspect Rama Krishna, who found the house locked, broke into it around midnight. However, by then, Shankar had returned home from Vijayawada.
Police said on returning, Shankar’s family found the main door open and on peeping through the window, they found the suspect inside.
“They locked the main door from outside and raised an alarm alerting neighbours. The police on being alerted rushed the patrol vehicle staff to the spot. The door was opened and the suspect was arrested,” said a police official.
Officials said Rama Krishna had motive to burgle the house but could not as the residents had arrived by then. Based on a complaint, the Medipally police booked a case and are investigating.
