Hyderabad: Burglars broke into the house of a businessman at Chaderghat and decamped with huge quantities of gold and cash on Friday night.

The businessman, Hafizuddin, a resident of Chaderghat, along with his wife, went to meet his relatives on Friday late evening, leaving behind his children in the house. In the night, the children went to sleep in their room.

“While the children were asleep, the burglars entered the house and noticed the children in the room. They bolted the door of the children’s room from outside. The offenders then entered the bedroom and collected the valuables before escaping from the back door of the house,” said Chaderghat police.

The burglars also took the fruits from the refrigerator and ate them, and later went into the kitchen and had food in the house.

Hafizuddin returned home late in the night and on noticing the house ransacked and the door of the children’s room latched from outside, informed the police about it.

The police reached the house and summoned a tracker dog and a clues team. The tracker dog led the police to the Malakpet railway station and lost scent. The clues team lifted fingerprints from the scene of the offence, and the police are trying to match them with the available database of known offenders. A case is registered.
