Hyderabad: A businessman, who was missing for the last four days from Punjagutta, is suspected to have been murdered by unknown persons. His decomposed body was found at SR Nagar on Wednesday.
The victim, Vishnu Rupani (40), was missing from Punjagutta since December 28 and a complaint was made at the Punjagutta police station.
The police had registered a case and launched efforts to trace him.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday morning, the residents of SR Nagar informed the police about foul smell emanating from a house. On checking, the local police found a highly decomposed body in the house.
The police checked the missing persons record of all police stations and informed the Punjagutta police about the body that bore similarities to the particulars of the man furnished in the Lookout Notice (LoN).
The Punjagutta police reached the spot and, with the help of Vishnu Rupani’s relatives, established his identity.
The police shifted the body for a post-mortem examination to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary. The case of missing person is now being altered and an investigation has been launched.
It is suspected that some persons had kidnapped the man and murdered him over some financial disputes.
