Hyderabad celebrates 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour

Hyderabad celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour, with events held across schools, colleges, offices, residential colonies and business establishments. Parades, cultural programmes, patriotic songs, sweet distribution and award presentations marked celebrations across the city.

Hyderabad: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour across Hyderabad and its suburbs.

Apart from State events organised on the occasion, the city witnessed arrangements for the celebrations commencing in the early hours across educational institutions, government and private offices and campuses, residential colonies and the premises of business houses.

Students impressively dressed for the occasion were seen excitedly making their way to schools and colleges, while the young and seniors in residential areas were seen coming together to make arrangements at colony junctions, where sound systems blared old and new patriotic numbers.

Parades were held and sweet boxes were distributed at the celebrations, which featured several cultural activities apart from award presentations to winners of events organised in the run-up to Independence Day.
