Hyderabad: The Begumpet police caught a man who allegedly snatched a gold chain from a woman at Rasoolpura and recovered Rs. 49,600, a gold chain and a mobile phone from him.
The man, Sabbu Ganesh (35) a sweeper working for the Cantonment Board and a resident of Malkajgiri, went to a woman’s house in Rasoolpura and asked for a glass of water. After drinking water, he left and then returned a few minutes later. When she opened the door, he snatched her gold chain weighing around five tolas and fled,” DCP (North) Chandana Deepti said.
Ganesh pledged the chain with a pawn broker at Malkajgiri for Rs.50,000. Police identified him with the help of CCTV footage and nabbed him. The pawn broker was also arrested, the DCP said.
