The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) signature campaign seeking support for the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) merger with GHMC entered its third day, drawing strong participation from Rasoolpura slums.

BRS has launched a signature campaign seeking the merger of Cantonment Board civil areas with GHMC. Party workers collected signatures in Rasoolpura, while leaders plan protests and parliamentary action to press for resolution of the long-pending issue.

The Secunderabad Cantonment Board has cleared a four-lane Y-shaped flyover at Rasoolpura junction by issuing a NoC to the GHMC. The Rs 150 crore project aims to ease chronic traffic congestion at one of Hyderabad’s busiest junctions.

Two key road projects at AoC Circle and Rasoolpura in Secunderabad Cantonment await approval from the Defence Estates Office. The SCB CEO said clearances are needed due to litigation and airport funnel-zone restrictions. SCB also fixed new entry fees for Picket Garden.

According to the police, the trio was not satisfied with the income they earned through their meager paying jobs and decided to commit offences for easy money.

Only on need basis the road between Tivoli X-road to Plaza X-road will be closed and traffic will be diverted from 10 am to 10 pm.

The traffic police requested the citizens to take note of the above programme and plan their movements accordingly.
