Sixty-four-year-old Alamuri Krishna Kumari was returning from her evening walk near Eco Country Apartment when a suspect snatched her 3-tola mangalsutra and fled on a scooter. She sustained minor neck injuries during the incident.
Hyderabad: A chain snatcher who targeted an elderly housewife out on an evening walk was nabbed within 24 hours and the gold chain was recovered.
A 64 year-old Alamuri Krishna Kumari was returning from her evening walk near Eco Country Apartment when the suspect snatched her 3 tola mangalsutra and fled on scooter. The victim received minor injuries on the neck when the suspect snatched the chain.
On receiving a complaint, the police under direct supervision of P.Venkataramana, Assistant Commissioner of Police, SR Nagar Division, T. Srinath Reddy, Station House Officer, M Gopal, Detective Inspector of Police, SR Nagar PS, E.Jangaiah Inspector of Police, Aravind and Naveen Kumar SI of Police and Team of Task Force West Zone and Y Suraj Detective Sub-Inspector of Police, arrested the suspect near Ameerpet Gurudwara. The stolen property was recovered intact and the vehicle used for commission of offence and a cell phone seized.
The suspect was identified as Gudimetla Gopinath, 25, a resident of Borabanda.
