Hyderabad: The ‘mangalsutra’ of a woman pedestrian was snatched away by a chain snatcher at Gandipet in Narsingi police station limits on Wednesday.

Laxmi (40) was walking alone on the road when an unidentified man who came following her, snatched her gold chain weighing about four tolas. By the time she could call out for help, the suspect fled the spot.


Based on her complaint, the Narsingi police booked a case and are investigating. She suffered injuries in the incident.

The police are examining the footage from the surveillance cameras in the surroundings of the crime spot to identify and nab the snatcher.
