Hyderabad: The Chandrayangutta police traced a handbag that a woman had lost in an auto-rickshaw and returned it to her on Wednesday.

Sabiya Begum, a resident of Sadathnagar, had come to the city to meet her relatives on Tuesday at Ghazimillat colony under the Chandrayangutta police station limits. She, however, forgot the bag, which had around one tola of gold, cash and a mobile phone, in the auto-rickshaw while getting off.

Realising later that the bag was missing, she approached the Chandrayangutta police, who with the help of CCTV cameras identified and traced the auto. The bag was found in the auto by the police and was handed over to Sabiya Begum here on Wednesday.

The woman thanked the Chandrayangutta police for their help and appreciated their swift response.
