Hyderabad: The hiring activity in Hyderabad which saw the highest growth last month has once again surpassed the trend of last one year and has recorded the highest ever hiring activity in February.

According to Naukri’s JobSpeak Index for February 2022, Hyderabad witnessed an upsurge in hiring with almost 43 per cent growth from same period last year.

The report also said that in the last one year, Hyderabad reported the highest index of 4,329 in February 2022 and this index stood at 3,908 in January and 3,020 in February 2021. Pan-India basis also the report showed that February 2022 recorded the highest ever hiring activity crossing the 3,000-mark and the index grew by 31 per cent year-on-year.

The index reached an all-time high as multiple sectors recorded a strong rate of growth versus previous year. The Naukri index stood at 3,074, surpassing its previous high of 2,753, which was clocked in September 2021. “The re-opening of the Indian ecosystem has reinforced a positive sentiment among employers and jobseekers,” the report said.

Sector-wise insurance clocked the highest growth in hiring activity at 74 per cent in February 2022 when compared with February 2021 followed by retail at 64 per cent growth rate. After a long sluggish period, the auto industry finally showed signs of recovery in February 2022 as it grew by 12 per cent over February last year.

Sectors like IT-software/software services recorded 41 per cent growth rate, while banking/financial services recorded 35 per cent, pharmaceutial at 34 per cent, hospitality at 41 per cent and telecom at 23 per cent.
