Hyderabad constable injured in knife attack at Tukaramgate

A police constable was injured after a suspected old offender allegedly attacked him with a knife while he intervened in a fight in Tukaramgate. The constable was shifted to a private hospital, while police registered a case and launched an investigation.

Hyderabad: A police constable was injured after being attacked with a knife by a suspected old offender, allegedly under the influence of drugs, in Tukaramgate on Thursday.

The suspect, identified as Shravan, was reportedly fighting with his friend when constable Ramu reached the spot after receiving information from locals and tried to intervene. During this, Shravan allegedly attacked the constable with a knife, injuring his hand.

Ramu was shifted to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

The Tukaramgate Police have registered a case and are investigating.
