Hyderabad: Cop found dead with throat slit in Malakpet

Banothu Abhilash, 33, of Baladannama basthi lived with his wife and two children. On Monday night, he came home and locked himself in his room.

Hyderabad: A police constable working at the Madannapet police station in the city died, allegedly by suicide. He is suspected to have slit his throat in his house in Malakpet on Monday night.

“His brother Prabhu grew suspicious when he did not answer phone calls. With the help of the neighbour Ashok, they broke open the door and found him lying in a pool of blood in a room,” said KV Subba Rao, SHO, Malakpet.

The police have shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police quoted Abhilash’s wife Jyothi that he had left her and the children with her parents two days ago. The police are investigating the reasons behind the suicide.
