Hyderabad: Police are continuing to question Veeresh Kumar, who was taken into custody in connection with the murder of his four-year-old nephew, Laxmi Narasimha alias Lucky, on Saturday.

The four-year-old boy was kidnapped from his house in Mailardevpally where he was staying with his father Vinod Kumar and mother Maheshwari. According to the police, Veeresh Kumar, the husband of Maheshwari’s sister Laxmi, had taken the child to Pahadishareef where he strangled him to death and dumped the body. The body was recovered from a private scrapyard in the evening.

Police said Veeresh Kumar bore a grudge against Maheshwari believing that she was ‘influencing’ his wife and creating issues between them. The probe is under way to find whether there were any other reasons for the kidnap and murder of the kid.
