Hyderabad: Couple from Vijayawada held for cheating

Hyderabad: A couple who cheated a senior manager of a software firm on a matrimony site was arrested by the Rachakonda Cybercrime police on Friday.
The arrested couple was identified as K Hrudayanand alias Uday (30) and K Anusha alias Harika (29), both residents of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
Police said Uday quit his job due to ill health and Anusha who worked at a diagnostic centre, created a fake profile on a prominent matrimonial site with a malicious intention of making easy money.
When the victim expressed interest, the couple started chatting with him through SMS and WhatsApp messages. On various pretexts, they borrowed money from him with a promise to repay soon, but failed.
Based on a complaint, a case was booked and the couple was nabbed from Vijayawada and brought to Hyderabad.
