Hyderabad: A tragic road accident in Malakpet claimed the lives of a couple after a TGSRTC bus rammed into their motorcycle on Thursday late night. The impact caused the couple to fall onto the road, and the rear wheels of the bus reportedly ran over them, killing them on the spot.

The victims have been identified as Tirupathi Rao and Venkatamma, residents of Suryapet district. Family members said the couple had recently arrived in Hyderabad to visit their daughter.
On receiving information, the Malakpet police rushed to the spot, registered a case, and took up an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the accident.

In another incident, the Hyderabad Police detained an unidentified man after seizing a country-made pistol along with a magazine at Khilwat near Lad Bazaar, in the old city on Thursday night. The arrest was made by the CCS Special Team during a routine operation within the limits of Hussaini Alam Police Station.

The weapon was recovered from the suspect during a search. Following the seizure, Hussaini Alam Police registered a case and took up an investigation. They are yet to trace the source of the firearm, and determine the intent behind its possession
