Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar inaugurated a network of 60 CCTV cameras installed as part of the ‘Nenu Saitham project’ at Afzalgunj on Thursday.
The cameras were installed with the help of donations made by traders and businessmen in various pockets of Afzalgunj. Speaking on the occasion, Anjani Kumar said after the surveillance cameras were installed in the city, the police are able to easily detect crime and prevent crime.
“Surveillance using closed circuit cameras is done round the clock by the police. It helps in prevention of crime also and acts as a deterrent for criminals. If any person breaks the law, we identify and arrest him,” the Commissioner said, adding that due to use of CCTV cameras, the cost incurred in investigation of a case had come down, saving taxpayers money. He asked the people to install CCTV cameras in their neighbourhood and apartments for their own safety.
