Hyderabad cyber crime police recover Rs 44 lakh for three online fraud victims

The Hyderabad cybercrime police helped three citizens who were victims of cyber frauds to recover stolen funds through cyber attacks. A total amount of Rs. 44, 84,527 was refunded to the three victims.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad cybercrime police helped three citizens who were victims of cyber frauds to recover stolen funds through cyber attacks. A total amount of Rs. 44, 84,527 was refunded to the three victims.

In the first case, a 59-year-old man had transferred an amount of Rs. 37.70 lakh to scammers, who duped him on the pretext of stock trading. After the man approached the police, a case was registered and promptly notices were sent to banks to freeze the accounts to which the amount was transferred by the victim. The bank officials were able to prevent an amount of Rs. 11,05,900 from getting transferred and cybercrime police facilitated in the refund of the amount victim’s account.


In the second case, a 51-year-old man had lost Rs. 16 lakh to scammers who put him under digital arrest and tried to extort the amount. The police on a complaint registered a case and after contacting the bank authorities managed to freeze an amount of Rs. 12 lakh. The amount was reverted back the bank account of the victim with the help of cybercrime police.

In the third case, the police helped a victim recover an amount of Rs. 21.78 lakh. The man was cheated on the pretext of financial and internet banking fraud by the scammers. On a complaint, the police followed up the case and got the entire amount reverted.
