Hyderabad Cybercrime cops arrest eight for job frauds

Hyderabad: A job fraud racket was busted by the Hyderabad cybercrime police following the arrest of eight persons from Delhi. The police seized a laptop, 26 mobile phones and other articles.
The arrested persons are identified as Rajesh Singh, Anubhav Singh, Nafeez, Saif Ali, Yogita, Shalu Kumari, Priya and Shivani.
Joint Commissioner of Police, Detective Department, Dr. Gajurao Bhupal said the gang collected details of job aspirants from job portals and contacted the victims assuring of employment in big companies. “On pretext of a registration fee, initially a small amount was collected. After a few days, the gang informed the victims that they got selected for a job and collected money towards security deposit, GST fee, documents verification fee etc,” he said.
In October last year, the suspects conned a city-based woman who uploaded her profile on a job portal ‘shine.com’ for the job of an air hostess, and collected Rs.8.02 lakh from her on different instances through online transfer.
On a complaint, the police had booked a case and tracked down the suspects. “The gang was operating a mini call center in Delhi and on a daily basis duping people from across the country,” said Dr. Gajurao Bhupal. All the eight persons were arrested and remanded.
