Hyderabad: Day care unit inaugurated at Basavatarakam hospital
With the addition of the new day care unit, the total day care beds available for various categories of patients at the hospital is now more than 160 beds
Hyderabad: To treat more patients, Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI) has established its third day care unit, which was inaugurated by its Chairman, Nandamuri Balakrishna on Wednesday.
The third day care unit with 11 beds will add to existing 31 beds in day care ward one and two. With the addition of the new day care unit, the total day care beds available for various categories of patients at the hospital is now more than 160 beds. The beds will be mainly utilised to provide chemotherapy services to cancer patients.
Speaking on the occasion, Nandamuri Balakrishna said the new beds will provide timely treatment thus reducing waiting time for the patients. The hospital is striving to expand healthcare facilities for all categories of patients including Arogyasri, he added.
Later, he visited various facilities available at the newly inaugurated day care unit and interacted with patients. Senior cancer specialists from the hospital were present.
