Hyderabad: The inordinate delay in the execution of road works by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in Kalyan Nagar, Erragadda, has sparked anger and frustration among residents and daily commuters. Locals raised serious concerns over the unfinished stretch and the inconvenience it has been causing for the last six months.
After ‘Telangana Today’ published a story highlighting how residents and commuters have been facing issues due to incomplete road works on this stretch in November 2025, the GHMC officials merely covered the road with soil. However, so far, they turned a blind eye to unfinished work.
“The GHMC has utterly failed to complete roadwork even after six months,” a few frustrated residents told ‘Telangana Today’.
Angered residents complained that unfinished road works had resulted in an uneven surface, causing inconvenience and safety hazards due to dust. “We are facing pathetic conditions and navigating uneven surfaces and scattered debris,” a few residents expressed anguish.
Ahead of the Jubilee Hills assembly constituency by-poll, GHMC proposed cement-concrete roads in several colonies. However, it completed road works in a few colonies and left them incomplete in a few other colonies, including Kalyan Nagar phase -1.
A GHMC Engineering and Maintenance wing official said laying of new CC roads is being completed in a phased manner, and the road in Kalyan Nagar is one among them.
